George Liu is a seasoned investment banker with more than 15 years of experience across energy, clean tech, power & utilities, industrial manufacturing and business services sectors. Having executed on more than $20b of M&A and capital financing projects across his career, George has always focused on delivering best-in-class advisory services to his clients.  Prior to founding Scaleres, George was a senior investment banker at HSBC, leading origination and execution for Energy and Renewables clients. Before HSBC, George was an Energy advisor with Apache Corporation, Simmons & Co. (now Piper Sandler) and Scotiabank.  George started his career in generalist IB and turnaround consulting in the Midwest.  George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Northwestern University and a MBA from the University of Texas, Austin

James Wang

Senior Advisor

James has been a veteran investor and financier in the Energy and Decarbonization sector for over two decades.  He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of OneLNG and VP Ventures, a fast growing, integrated micro LNG developer in Texas.  Previously, James was the Managing Director of Ara Partners, one of the largest energy transition capital providers in the U.S., and was instrumental in leading sourcing, execution, portfolio management, and investment realization for the firm. He played a critical role in the firm’s investments in Centric Infrastructure Group, Priority Power, Path Environmental Technology, Anesco and Fluitron. Prior to joining Ara, he worked at First Reserve, a global private equity investment firm. He began his career in the Global Natural Resources Group, Investment Banking Division, at Lehman Brothers. James holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a MPA from the University of Texas, Austin.

Kevin Kwok

Kevin has bridged the gap between finance and sustainability for over 15 years, driving positive change across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.  At HSBC, he was Head of Americas’ ESG Advisory practice and chaired multiple sustainable finance committees focusing on nature-based solutions, social impact and energy transition to achieve Net Zero by 2050.  He advised on IPOs and M&A to sustainable capital financing in clean energy and circular economy strategies across all industries.  Prior to HSBC, Kevin headed ESG fixed income and climate research at MSCI, while also helming the world’s largest green bond index.  Kevin is a contributing author to the global publication “Responsible Investment in Fixed Income Markets”.  Beyond traditional finance, he leverages his expertise as an angel investor (Y Combinator) focused on disruptive technologies, a Peace Corps representative at the UN ECOSOC, and an advocate for Responsible AI as a former Finance Chair at the AI Summit.  Kevin holds a MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and BA from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Mali and a mentor for Techstars and CGI U.
